Have Labour members got nothing better to do?

With everything that is going on in RCT – rising council tax; education cuts; library; day centre; swimming pool and theatre closures; controversial changes to school catchment areas, etc ., you would think that Labour members, elected or otherwise would have better things to do than waste their time trying to wind us up.

Yet that is what apparently some of them like to spend their time doing.

Two of them were removed from the RCT Welsh Lib Dem facbook site yesterday – David Morris and Jeremy Williams.  Now we have no problem with open debate, or with people disagreeing with our views, but personal attacks are certainly not going to go on unchecked.

We are without doubt the most open and accessible party in RCT.  Cllr Mike Powell and myself in particular, but other members too, engage widely with members of the public in a variety of arenas. Facebook, Twitter, our website, this blog, not to mention public meetings and events.  Unlike the Labour party we don’t hide away in case people say something ‘nasty’ about us.  However, neither will we allow Labourites to spam our own sites with personal abuse.

There must surely be something more useful they can be doing within their communities rather than indulging in such childish practises.  They could even try entering into some decent debate with reasoned arguments – except it is not, it seems, the Labour party way.

In a comment on the post he left (pictured above) David Morris stated that “Myself and Jeremy Williams have been un-democratically banned by Karen Roberts the Lib Dem Councillor from RCT who runs their facebook Page.”

Now this is factually inaccurate to begin with – I am not a Councillor, I am the Chair and Campaign manager of RCT Welsh Lib Dems which gives me the authority to speak on their behalf.  As for being “un-democratically banned”  maybe Mr Morris could ask the parents who oppose the nursery cuts, or those against Y Pant catchment changes, or the residents furious at the closure of Rhydyfelin library what they think of a Labour party member talking about something being undemocratic.

The Labour party usually get their ideas from the hard-line communist states of the past. Keep the population down, attack anyone who disagrees, put them up in holiday concentration camps. Their idea of democracy is that you have a choice where you are incarcerated.

It might have escaped the attention of the 'knowledgable' anonymous 'cr*p' purveyor that there is a growing groundswell of dissatisfaction with the Labour party's handling of economical matters, devolved health and education in Wales. Indeed all of us, in Wales, certainly are paying a hefty price for their incompetence. Think of Mrs Roberts what you like but at least she is not afraid to point out what is obvious to all, except you. RCT Council has put up the Council Tax by a eye-watering 4.5%, there will be cuts on almost everything. Oh yes, I forgot it is the fault of the nasty coalition. Well, if that's all Labour can come up with let's have the Raving Looney party in power. Although come to think of it we have enough clowns in government already.

Anonymous (oh I do love that, spineless Labourites) I have no problem with entering into debate. However, your idea of debate is to throw insults mostly directed at me eg your very unoriginal 'unelectable' comment. I will continue to delete such nonsense.

So all politicians who do not stand in their own backyard are spineless?
That's a new one on me. Perhaps a new Welsh Labour policy. Funny though, did not read that in their manifesto. Although their manifesto was not worth reading. Most of the items were either ignored or later abandoned.

Damn, I forgot to mention those two most worthy spineless (your words not mine)local AM and MP! Am from Newport and MP from some wayback rural backwater close to London.
I must say I like the word spineless in that context. Nice work, Jeremy you'll go far in politics!

So what party do you support DutchEnery? You left LibDems, don't like Labour, probably indifferent about the Conservatives. What about the DutchEnery Party? What are the policies mmmm - DutchEnery is always right, The King James bible will be replaced by the DutchEnery bible, only "the deserving poor" (and this will be decided by our leader - DutchEnery) will receive help of any kind. The DutchEnery anthem "My Way" must be played in every school every morning.

I think I'll reserve my right not to vote!!!

And what about Labour Clr Mark Adams lives in Trallwn represents (allegedly) Tylorstown? Was he too 'spineless' to stand in Trallwn? Jeremy you are a disgrace. Hope you don't show that same attitude amongst the young people you work with. Certainly not the kind of example I'd like to see set.

Well, Anonymous admirer of my great self. You are so right. I live by two rules. Rule one - Dutchenery is always right. Rule two - If Dutchenery is wrong, see rule One.
You're beginning to sound like my wife. Oh my, you're not....?
